Stress Management 101 (DBT for Teens)

  • Stress/anxiety
  • Conflicts with peers or adults
  • Mood swings
  • Low self-esteem
  • Emotional sensitivity
  • Eating disorders
  • Drug and alcohol addictions
  • ADHD
  • Or for those simply wanting to discover healthy coping skills.

Stress Management 101 focuses on the four components from Dialectical Behavior Therapy that are clinically proven to improve emotional health:

  • Mindfulness
  • Distress Tolerance
  • Emotion Regulation
  • Interpersonal Effectiveness.

Mindfulness

The Mindfulness group is designed for women who want to become more relaxed, improve concentration, and live more fully in each moment. Exercises and simple skill sets also help you let go of painful experiences from the past, concerns about frightening possibilities in the future – and become less judgmental of yourself and others.

Pill Addiction Support Group

The Pill Addiction Support Group is for women who have addictions to pain medications, such as Vicodin or Oxycontin, or other mood-altering pills, such as Valium or Xanex.

This support group, like all groups at Knight Therapy, provides a safe, confidential environment where other women understand your struggles. It is designed for those who may not feel comfortable at other community support meetings such as Narcotics Anonymous or Alcoholics Anonymous, and is open to anyone on medication-assisted therapy such as Bupenorphine or Soboxone.

Recovery Skills/Relapse Prevention Group

The Recovery Skills/Relapse Prevention group teaches women how to deal with the aftermath of addiction: Emotional or physical triggers, problematic thinking, stress management, emotion management and rebuilding relationships.

Social Skills for Teens

Social Skills for Teens is designed for teenagers who are looking to improve their social skills. Group sessions focus on cooperative games and education regarding basic and intermediate social skills (i.e. conversations with peers and adults, physical boundaries, and assertiveness).
