Real Help for Women and Teen Girls
with Overwelming Emotions
Picture
Coming to counseling can feel nerve-racking or overwhelming.  I always tell clients “Come as you are.”  If you feel nervous, come nervous. If you don’t want to come but feel you should, that’s OK. I will meet you where you are.
Feeling overwhelmed?  Stuck in problematic coping patterns? Do your emotions get the best of you?
Life, without any major disruptions, is stressful enough; however almost everyone experiences times that are especially difficult.  Oftentimes, people find themselves getting lost, anxious, or frustrated during these times and can develop problematic ways of coping because they don't know what else to do.  This is understandable.  Sometimes this might mean some internal dialogue and ruminating.  Sometimes it can mean that everything is falling apart and things are bad- really bad.

This is where I can help.  You can get unconditional support (no judgement here!) and evidenced-based solutions to your problems that will help you to live more of the fulfilling, peaceful, and confident life that you deserve.

I provide real help for women and teen girls experiencing overwhelming emotions.  It is a priority of mine to be trained in the most common and effective evidenced-based practices that help with many of the issues with which my clients present. Among other treatment modalities that I use, I am most known for my experience in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), in which I have been using with clients for over 20 years.
OVER 20 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE USING EVIDENCE-BASED PRACTICES TO HELP YOU OVERCOME YOUR CHALLENGES
I utilize only evidenced-based practices to help you achieve your goals including my most recognized specialty, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) for emotion regulation.  I also employ eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma recovery along with; acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and cognitive processing therapy (CPT) for getting unstuck from thoughts, or emotion-focused family therapy (EFFT) for decreasing the mental health symptoms of loved ones through practical communication strategies, among other approaches.  I believe in going back to look at the past at times, while also wanting you to feel equipped for managing your emotions TODAY.

I will give you MANY skills over time in order for you or your loved one to feel more confident in managing emotions.

I received my masters degree in counseling psychology from Lewis and Clark College in 2005, and my drug and alcohol certification in 2007.  I have worked in a variety of settings that span from schools to drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers, all of which have equipped me with the experience and training needed for you to make lasting change.
I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation where you can bring your questions and concerns.  I invite you to take the leap so we can start moving forward!
